Description
Located at the junction of two of the most beautiful valleys of the Pyrenees, the Gaube valley - registered as Grand Site de Midi-Pyrénées - and the Marcadau valley and in the very heart of the National Park of the Pyrenees, Clot Refuge welcomes you, for the summer and winter seasons, for a unique mountain stay.
It is not unusual to see Izards passing just in front of the refuge; marmots live on the slopes of Clot Plateau and an eagle couple nests on the crests above the hut. The Clot site was chosen for the first reintroduction of the Spanish ibex in 2015.
The refuge is in the middle of the cross-country skiing station of Pont d'Espagne and near to the toboggan runs and alpine skiing slopes for beginners.
A GR10 milestone between Ilhéou refuge and Baysselance refuge, this refuge welcomes you for a stay in 10 bedrooms for 3 to 10 persons including one bedroom specially featured for persons with reduced mobility.
The bar and the terrace are opened all year long, with snacks and restaurant for lunch, traditional dishes and combined plates.
For the evening, the refuge meal begins always with the traditional “garbure” followed by a main course like at home, local cheese and desert, by booking only.
A resting room equipped with water, a fridge and a microwaves oven is available for hikers to consume their own food and a small library is available for everybody.
Catherine and Frédéric Walton welcome you at Clot Refuge, a refuge of the Commission Syndicale de la Vallée de Saint Savin
